"Three Major Strategies" of Alibaba Group
In 2019, Alibaba Group achieved 376.8 billion yuan of the annual revenue, and its customers reached 750 million, making it one of the most successful e-commerce companies in the world. Its business scope covers core e-commerce, cloud computing, digital media, entertainment and innovation projects. In December 2019, when confronting with the new international and domestic situations, Alibaba Group proposed "three major strategies": domestic demand, globalization and big data and cloud computing.
1. Domestic Demand
China is expected to jump to the first place in consumer market in 2020. Due to the dual upgrade in industry and consumption, there will be enormous opportunities. In order to seize changes in the new consumption age, Taobao and Tmall of Alibaba will work with Alimama to promote innovation under the unified strategy of user products and commercial products. In addition, the development of agriculture and rural areas largely supports the expansion of domestic demand. Consequently, digitization in agriculture can open up new growth space for the supply of superior agricultural products, effectively develop agriculture, and lift farmers out of poverty.
2. Globalization
Alibaba plans to provide services for 2 billion consumers, create 100 million jobs and help 10 million small and medium-sized enterprises to make profits by 2036. With the advance of globalization, Alibaba should firstly meet the needs of small businesses and consumers for digital technology and platforms. "Alibaba will put more effort in globalization" said Eric Jing, President of Ant Financial Services Group. Eric Jing will continue to take charge of the Ant International Business Department, Smart Technology Business Department and sectors regarding to HR, Finance and strategic investment.
3. Big Data and Cloud Computing
Alibaba is a well-deserved leader in the field of cloud services. At present, Alibaba has achieved 100% of its core systems on the cloud and announced breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI), big data, blockchain and other technologies. Moreover, Alibaba has even gained some success in the chip field and released brand-new Hanguang 800 AI chips, which is officially called AI inference chips with the world's highest performance.
