Since the course is a massive open online course (MOOC), we will not be able to respond to each individual question. We encourage students to engage with the course through the following ways:
The discussion forum is available at the top of your course page. You are encouraged to use the discussion forums to facilitate conversations between classmates about outstanding content questions, current events relevant to the module topic, and general discussion points that interest you.
There are a couple of ways of using the Discussion Forum:
Posting a new discussion thread. Add a new thread! In addition to text, you are also able to pictures and link articles to your thread.
Responding to other discussion threads. Keep the conversation going! Indicate that you like a post, or comment on a thread.
Following threads. Is there an interesting conversation starting? You can "follow" a thread that you find compelling.
Using Hashtags. With a course of thousands of students, one of the most effective tools to use in the Discussion Forum is hashtags. These are searchable tags that are included in the subject or body of a thread. For example, if your thread is about a technical problem that you are facing with the platform, using the hashtag #techsupport in the subject or body of the thread will allow the technical team to find your question quickly. Here are some of the most useful tags
#week1 (or #week2, week3, etc.): please use this tag if you are addressing something related to a specific week
#TAsupport: please use this tag if your question needs a response from the Course Team
#techsupport: please use this tag if you're having any technical issues accessing components of the platform
You can also create your own content-related hashtags to find conversations about a given topic.
Q&A Sessions: Question Submission. Discussion forum threads are used to collect questions from students for faculty members to answer during the live and pre-recorded Q&A sessions. Each Q&A Session will have its own discussion forum thread where students can post questions. The thread will be made available once the Q&A session is announced. Students are asked to tag their questions with the faculty member's name (#HirokazuYoshikawaQ&A) and the relevant lecture number (#1.3). Please review the Live Q&A Course Page for more information.
