Trunk Club: trunkclub.com
Founded in 2009, Trunk Club is a clothing e-commerce company in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It employs O2O model to provide men and women with personalized and mid-to-high-end clothing services. In 2014, it was taken over by Nordstromin (a high-end department store chain in the United States) for $350 million, and services of Trunk Club were integrated into the company's stores with overhead prices.
Trunk Club’s O2O shopping process can be roughly divided into three steps.
The first step is to register as a member of Trunk Club and fill in the information. When you register as a club member for free on the official website of Trunk Club, you will be required to fill in a brief questionnaire to let the designer understand your taste. The questionnaire covers that what your typical style is in daily life, whether you prefer formal business or casual comfort, what colors and patterns you avoid, how long you like your jeans, etc. Furthermore, you can consult with your specified designer over the telephone or the company's online messenger service to express your preferences in more detail.
The second step is to exchange opinions with the designer. Trunk Club will send you a list of 6 to 10 items in the mailing package by email two days before the actual clothes are sent, enabling you to have an opportunity to exchange the size or color, keep back your design notes, or reject impracticable things.
The final step is to accept and return the package. The package will be delivered for free within 4 to 6 working days. You will have five days to try on all the clothes after the clothes are delivered. You only need to pay for the clothes you like in the package and then send the rest of the unsatisfied clothes back (take delivery of goods via free UPS or personally deliver the package to a nearby Nordstrom store).
