The Leakage of User Information
The leakage of user information is one of the sensitive topics in the e-commerce industry. There was a large-scale leakage of user information in Xiaohongshu. Users whose information was leaked received phone frauds. Fraudsters used refunds as bait to swindle through online lenders such as Ant Borrow, Laifenqi and Mashang Consumer Finance. Users suffered different economic losses. Information leakage is almost a common problem in the current e-commerce market, and the biggest victims of information leakage are passive consumers.
According to user complaints received by China's E-commerce Complaint and Rights Protection Public Service Platform in recent years, there are many leakage incidents in the Internet e-commerce industry in recent years. Major examples include money stolen for several time in China online game service network-5173.com, a suspected information leakage in Xiaohongshu causing users to be deceived, user accounts stolen in dangdang.com for several time, the leakage of customer information by employees in yhd.com, the leakage of more than 70 million QQ groups in Tencent, the leakage of user personal information and bank card information caused by technology vulnerabilities in Ctrip, user information stealing by games in WeChat Moments, "gray industry chain" in selling courier orders and information leakage of 131,12,306 users. Behind those "disclosure" incidents, the rights and interests of consumers have been damaged to varying degrees without exception. The China E-commerce Research Center believes that, in the E-commerce Law of the People's Republic of China (Draft), the protection of information security has been increased, which unequivocally includes third-party e-commerce platforms, platform operators, payment service providers, providers of express and logistics services and other subjects for information security protection. Furthermore, the Law stipulates that those who fail to perform their protection obligations will be fined up to 500,000 yuan and their licenses will be revoked. If a crime is constituted, the criminal shall be prosecuted for criminal liability.
