Professor Jenkins has 50 years of tourism teaching, research and student supervision experience at university level. He has been a consultant for most of the major international development organizations and has worked in over 80 developing countries. He is Emeritus Professor of International Tourism at the Business School, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, and currently Visiting Professor at the College Tourism and Service Management in Nankai university, China. He is a member of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism. Special areas of interact are in tourism policy and planning and the role of tourism in development.
