请看这幅图。我们考虑长为L的导体棒,在均匀磁场中以速度v向右运动。磁场方向垂直向里。
导体棒中的电子受到磁场力Fb的作用。Fb 等于 qv 叉乘 B.
由右手定则,电子受到的磁场力向下,推动电子向导体棒的下端运动,而上端剩下正电荷。
如图所示,正负电荷的分离导致导体棒内部电场E的产生。于是,电荷同时受到电场力Fe的作用,Fe等于qE。
当电子受到的合力为零,即qvB=qE或者E=vB, 此时两力抵消,达到平衡。于是在导体棒两端产生了电势差。
我们注意到导体棒上端的电势高于下端的电势。
显然,只要导体棒在磁场中继续运动,导体棒两端的电势差就会一直存在。
如果导体棒的运动反向,则电势差的极性也就跟着反向。
现在,有一个问题。如果我们将导体棒的两端与导线连接形成一个闭合回路,会发生什么情况?
由于导体棒中的电势差,闭合回路中一定有电流。
换句话说,导体棒在回路中就相当于一个电源,提供电子在回路中运动的驱动力。这就意味着感应电动势由运动的导体产生。
既然感应电动势是由于导体棒在磁场中的运动而产生的,我们就称它为动生电动势。那如何计算动生电动势呢?
先回顾电动势的定义。EMF定义为绕闭合回路L一周,非静电力对单位正电荷所作的功。
在电路中,EMF的大小就等于将单位正电荷从电源负极搬至电源正极非静电力所作的功。
让我们回到正在讨论的动生电动势。这里,非静电场Ek就是单位正电荷受到的磁场力,由此式计算:v叉乘B. 电动势可以通过Ek点dr的线积分确定。
一般情况下,绕闭合回路一周的动生电动势可以写成此式。在这种情况下,我们将Ek代换为v和B的叉乘,然后沿棒的长度计算线积分,得到感应电动势,等于vBl.
我们进一步考虑这种情况,运动的导体棒为闭合回路的一个部分。假设导体棒在均匀磁场中沿两根无摩擦的导电轨道运动,磁场方向垂直向里。
两根轨道的间距为l, 两端连接电阻R。当导体棒在外力作用下,以恒定速度v向右运动,回路所围面积增大。
应用法拉第电磁感应定律,回路中的感应电动势等于穿过回路的磁通量随时间的变化率的负值。
回路的面积等于lx, 所以Φb等于Blx,B和l都是常量,可以提到微分号外。
dx比dt等于速度v. 于是我们得到感应电动势,即Blv的负值。既然回路中的电阻为R,那么相应的感应电流可以由此式计算。现在我们来确定电流方向。
应用楞次定律,感应电流为逆时针,这样感应电流激发的磁场垂直向外,抵抗垂直向里的原磁通量的增加。此图为等效电路图。
既然导体棒中有了电流,那么导体棒在磁场中就会受到磁力的作用。那么磁力的方向如何?
这对于我们从能量这个角度去理解楞次定律极为关键。假设导体棒被向右轻轻一推。
基于上述分析,回路中产生逆时针方向的感应电流。根据这个方程,F等于IL叉乘B,作用于导体棒的磁场力应该向左。
因此,要维持导体棒向右运动,我们必须施加一个外力,方向向右。
现在我们假设感应电流为顺时针,此时导体棒所受的磁力向右。结果,导体棒在磁力的作用下向右加速运动。
回路所围面积快速增大,随之感应电流增大,磁力增大,导体棒运动速度继续增大,感应电流也就继续增大,以此类推。
结果,在这样一个过程中没有任何能量输入,但系统却获得了能量。这显然违背了能量守恒定律。
因此,感应电流必须是逆时针,上述的分析表明楞次定律符合能量守恒定律。
我们来看下一个例子。如图,一根导体棒,长为l, 以恒定角速度ω绕棒的固定一端转动。匀强磁场B垂直转动平面。
求导体棒两端的动生电动势。我们注意到,棒的不同位置,具有不同的速度v. 因此,我们必须采用通式来计算动生电动势。
我们将棒分割为无限多个线元,每个线元的长度为dr. 每一个在磁场中转动的线元dr产生电动势dε.
由于各个线元产生的电动势dε是串联关系,因此我们将各个线元产生的电动势相加得到导体棒两端的电动势。
导体棒的线元dr具有速度v。我们可以用此式来计算线元的电动势dε. 通过积分确定整个导体棒两端的电动势。
切向速度v与角速度ω之间的关系式为: v等于ω乘以r。
考虑到角速度是恒定的,我们用ω代换v. 然后积分得到总的电动势。
上述例子说明了感应电动势可以通过导体在磁场中运动而产生。我们称为动生电动势。
我们考虑另外一种情形。假如,磁场中导体保持静止或者就根本就没有导体,但磁场随时间变化。情况又会怎样?下一讲我们将讨论这个问题。
