Prosperity: n. the condition of prospering; success or wealth 繁荣,兴旺

Impiety: n. lack of reverence or proper respect for a god 不虔诚,无敬仰

Deluge: n. a sudden very heavy fall of rain  洪水,泛滥

Seven against Thebes: 《七将攻忒拜》

Elysium: n. the dwelling place of virtuous people after death  极乐世界,天堂

Righteous: adj. acting in a just, upright manner; doing what is right 公正的,正直的

scatterbrained: adj. not thinking in a practical way 心不在焉的

swiftness: n. a rate (usually rapid) at which something happens 迅速,敏捷

fashion: vt. 使用;改变;做成的……形状

resemble: v. to look like or be similar to someone or something 类似,像

dread: v. to fear that sth bad is going to happen or may happen  惧怕,担心

guile: n. the use of clever but dishonest methods to deceive someone 诡计,狡猾

endow: v.  赋予,捐赠

consolation: n. a consoling or being consoled; comfort; solace  安慰,慰问

Deucalion: n. a son of Prometheus  丢卡利翁

Phrrha: n. the wife of Deucalion 皮拉

deterioration: n. the process of changing to an inferior state  恶化,退化

aspiration: n.a strong desire to have or do sth. 渴望;抱负

biased: adj. unfairly preferring one person or group over another 有偏见的,片面的

haunting: adj. 不易忘怀的,萦绕于心头的
