我很高兴能被邀请
在杰出教授系列讲座中进行第一讲
我先介绍一下自己
我是斯特拉斯克莱德格拉斯哥大学的名誉教授
从事旅游业以及旅游业影响的研究
此次演讲的主题有四个
首先 回顾过去65年旅游业发展的一些亮点
然后 反思
这其中的一些制度对旅游业发展的影响
我想把重点集中在设立的国际组织上
特别是专门的旅游组织或者与旅游业高度相关的组织
第三 跟大家讲解政府在这个过程中的作用
站在局外人的角度
通过历史性的回顾
反思其意义以及“一带一路”倡议的实施所带来的影响
通常的演讲都是从开端讲起
但这次我想从最后开始讲起
同时问大家一个关于国际旅游的问题
我们现在处于何方
如果我们看一下国际旅游的统计数据
我们可以追溯到1950年
那是第一批统计数据被引入并被延续使用的时间点
在这个系列中有两个指标
一是国际旅游人数
简单地说
国际游客是指为了休闲的目的
而从一个国家到另一个国家的人
所以从北京到广州旅游的游客不是国际旅游者
他只能算是国内旅游者
比如从中国到马来西亚
或者到韩国旅游的人就是国际旅游者
因为他们跨越了国界
现在 我们看看第一个指标
国际游客的数量
1950年 我们估计国际游客有2500万次
接下来你看到的数字
到2016年 国际游客数量达1,235亿人次
即人们为了休闲而穿越国境的旅行人次
世界旅游组织公布
2010年至2030年游客数量增长率约为3.3%
根据估计 全球将有18亿游客
这些数据告诉我们
旅游业是一项非常庞大的国际活动
展现旅游业增长和旅游价值的第二个指标是各国获取的旅游收入
我们称之为国际旅游收入
通常以美元来表示
再看看1950年的数字 20亿美元
2000年 4950亿美元
2016年 12,200亿美元
很显然 旅游业确实产生了大量的资金
