在接下来的一章中
我们将学习一类非常常见的问题
查找问题
在日常生活中
我们经常可以接触到查找这类问题
比如我们使用的网页搜索引擎
输入关键字
将会把查找到的包含这些关键字的网页
进行返回
网页搜索是一类典型的查找问题
另外我们来看一个常见的例子
数据库的检索
例如在我们的教务管理系统中
常见的学生信息数据检索界面
这是输入学号或者是学生姓名
那么系统将会查找
并且返回相关的学生信息
这个过程也是一个典型的查找过程
我们下面来看看
关于查找问题的形式化定义
查找问题所处理的输入数据
是一组由n个记录构成的集合T
那么每个记录对应一个唯一的关键字 Kj
以及相关联的信息Ij
这里所说的查找问题
就是给定某个关键字K
然后在集合T中
去查找关键字等于K的记录
在不同的应用中关键字有不同的形式
比如在学生系统中
关键字可以是学号也可以是姓名
那么根据查找的结果
查找可以区分为成功的查找
或者是失败的查找
如果我们能够在集合中
找到关键字等于K的记录
那么这次查找就是一次成功的查找
否则就是一个不成功的查找
有很多的方法可以支持高效的查找
在接下来的这一章中我们主要学习
存储在线性表中的数据的查找
其中包括在有序数组中的查找
以及用哈希表技术来提高查找效率
在下一章中我们将学习
用树型索引来提高查找的效率
我们通过把要查找的数据
组织成为一棵树型索引
那么可以来支持高效的查找
以及插入 删除等等操作
