2001毕业于美国德州农工大学,获博士学位,博士后,主修美国文学,辅修语言学,在国内外大学长期从事英语语言文学教学、特别是英文写作的教学,近年来在国防科技大学教授的写作课程包括大学英文写作和学术论文写作,外语教学教改特聘专家,2014年获国防科技大学教学优秀个人一等奖,主要著作有《美国战争文学史及作品选读》(国防科技大学出版社,2009)和《大学英文写作》(高等教育出版社,2016)。
长期从事二语习得和跨文化能力培养的研究,硕士生导师,开设的主要课程包括二语习得、研究方法和学术写作,2013年获得全军优秀教师、军队教育教学育才金奖,提倡中国外语教育要立足培养学生中介文化力(intercultural competence)建构能力,主要著作有《英语分级分层教育教学的探索与实践》(中国社会科学出版社,2015)。
