在最后一节中，
我想总结一下我在前几节中提到的一些要点，

50多年来对旅游业影响的研究，

有了大量的认识。
当然，我们还需要做这样的研究，
因为关于权利的不同问题的大挑战是
实施这些发现。
但这些知识并不容易迁移到规划和管理中。
虽然我提出了一些非常简单的概念，

最大的问题之一是变化的速度。
旅游业发展得非常迅速。
当然，人们在某些特定情况下可以发现，
由于政治局势、战争、恐怖主义或疾病传播，
旅游业会暂时停止增长。
但大多数地方都经历了旅游业的增长，
而且往往旅游业的增长非常迅速。

我认为船舶、住宿、飞机等规模的不断扩大意味着，

包括自然区、遗产和文化等的供给以及游客的需求。
需求在不同的尺度上是不同的。

周末和工作日的分布不同。
对在大多数旅游目的地来说，

游客都希望在特定的时间来。

足够的经济供应来满足高峰时期的需求。

但最后我提出一个问题，
我们是否提供了足够的培训来满足
当前和未来的需求。
随着在商学院学习的学生越来越多，
我想知道他们是否在
环境过程和文化敏感性方面得到了足够的指导，
以便为管理我们一直在讨论的影响提供所需的投入。
我参与过的大多数大型项目，
实际上并没有把重点放在旅游业上，
而是放在旅游业和其他经济部门之间的关系上。
因为旅游业正在与其他潜在用途的稀缺资源做竞争，
如土地、水资源、废弃物模拟能力、能源、劳动力等。
所以，很少有问题仅仅是关于旅游业的问题，
这些问题与可持续发展、
社区发展、
生物多样性战略
和土著居民有关。
问题清单还很长。
旅游业在所有这些问题中都非常重要，
但它们不只是旅游业的问题。
所以，在我结束演讲的时候，
我想鼓励大家广泛阅读，
鼓励大家思考旅游业在这些广泛问题中的作用，
因为我认为旅游业和其他部门之间的关系
正是大部分问题所在。
