this dot leaf and trunk drawing method

是我们这节的训练要点
is the key point in today’s course

我们那个点叶啊
there is couple of tips and requirements

几个要求呢
in the dots leaf drawing

一个是点叶的
one is

用笔的功力
the power of brush movement

就是你要点出它的内劲来
which means the tension inside dots

点出形象来
and the shape of dots is also very important

这属于
it belongs to

形象表达不是很充分的
insufficient expression

这个树干
the trunk here

树干用笔的劲力
The power of brush movement

力度不够
isn’t enough

我们线条还有点平直
too many straight lines in here

比较呆板
kind of rigid

另外就是它不是很柔润
beside is it lack of moisture inside your brush

比较生涩
kind of chalky

都是笔病
It’s all brush problems

那么这个树干
the trunk here

还有这种墨色没有变化的
and so as this part

基本上都是
basically it’s the same problem

一个墨色的变化
which is lack of change of ink color

虽然用的是淡墨
although it’s all light ink

但是没有生机
But there is no sense of life

我们需要把这几点
I’m going to fix a little bit

修改一下
of this spot

让同学们更加清楚
to make it clear

那么点叶
the dot leaf

点叶虽然看似是
it looks pretty straight forward

很容易这么一个技法表现
and easy to do

但其实我们在演示的
but during the process

过程当中
of my demonstration

尤其在演示松针的组织
especially in the organization of pine tree leaves

它的内在结构
the internal structure is very important

但是我们现在
but now

同学们的用笔
students brush movement

尤其这个点
isn’t moved very well

点子的用笔不够充分
isn’t quite enough

这也是用笔方面的范畴
it’s also part of brush using territory

我们的用笔
the way we use brush

一定要能扛鼎
must be able to show the strength

一定要有重力
better with sense of weight

有高山坠石之感
and a feeling of rocks falling from mountains

用力一定要平
the force needs to be “flat”

这个平就像
which means steady

用锥子在沙地上画线
it just like drawing lines in the sand with awl

叫如锥画沙
it was called awl in sand

线条不是很轻率的出
The lines can’t be very frivolous

要像屋漏痕那样那个锥
try to imagine the trace that water slightly fall down on the wall surface

在墙上下注有阻力
There is resistance on the raw surface

这都是用笔的要求
This is requirement of brush using

要留得住
the trace of bush movement needs to be able to stay on the paper

所以说我们这个
that’s why we say

同学们这个点
the dot here

我们这个点分中锋点
isn’t quite clear

和露锋点
compare to the center style dot and the hidden style dot

现在我们同学这个点
the dots in here

就十分表达不明确
are very vague

藏锋点
in the hidden style dot

锋是不漏的
the tip of brush should be hided

而且下注力非常强
with strong tension falling

大小 疏密变化非常清楚
the size and dense difference should be very clear

这是点形 要点到位
this is the shape of dot

我们横卧点
here is the horizontal dot

横卧点 这叫横卧点
horizontally move your brush

这一笔这么大
the size of first movement is like this

然后第二笔大小不一
then the second

宽窄 包括疏密
the size and intensity are changing

它这个墨色的变化都在其中
and so as the ink color appearance

通过水渍都能反映出来
it all appealed by the trace of water

所以说这个下笔
so each brush movement we made

非常沉实厚重
should be thick and steady

水的发散也非常好
and the scale of water is just right on the point

通过水的笔痕
through the trace of water

这个疏密组织非常清楚
the organization becomes clear

同学们点松针
in pine leaf making

这个松针又犯这个组织毛病
this organization problem shows up again

这个松针
in needle pine tree leaves making

这是点叶的一个要领
there is a tip to draw it

通过松针我们就知道
from drawing this we know

这一组和另一组之间的关系
the relationship between this group and another

这是点叶的内在结构
here is the internal structure of leaves

我们知道这一组
in this group

还是很容易画的
it’s still quite easy to do it

那么第二组
for the second one

那它就很密
it will get intense

我们看这个节点
let’s take a look at this cross point

节点这个距离就很密
they are very close and dense

如果我们第三组的节点
if the cross point in the third group

离它很远
was made too far away from them

那就疏密就产生了
then the intense and sparse relationship

就产生了
comes out

那么我们第四组
in the fourth group

离这个点还很近
it’s still too close

但是有变化 不是均等
there is changes, but not equal

这个疏密就产生了
then the sparseness comes out

这样的厚度
the thickness

和这样平摆浮搁
it’s quite different

它是不一样的
than separated single placed

所以说
that’s why we say

我们知道松针的点法
once we know the method of pine tree needles leaf drawing

我们就知道介字点
then we know the organization of

和个字点的布局
“Jie” and “Ge” style dots

所以说这是点叶的要领
so this is the essential tips for the dot leaf drawing

同时这个同学
at the same time

还失去了对墨的表达
it lost the performance of ink expression

放弃了墨的表达
and the character of the brush-ink material

我们还是说在调墨的时候
in the process of mix ink and water

笔尖到笔根
from tip to bottom

一定要有变化
it must have changes

笔尖重笔根干净
dark ink on the tip and clean water on bottom of brush

如果笔根脏了我们可以洗
when it gets dirty we can wash it

用干净的笔
with clean water

用干净笔蘸清水
Clean brush with clean water

洗笔根
remember to wash to the bottom of brush

洗完笔根了以后
after that

它这个笔尖到笔根
the water would be absorb by the brush

这个水往上冲
it goes all the way up to the brush bottom

那么它就有变化
then when we add ink, there would be multiple changes

但是我们调这个墨
but when mix ink with water

一定要
be sure to

要感觉它
feel it

这个墨色渐变得非常好
The ink color is well mixed

从重到淡
from dark to light

然后把它用完
until it run out

假如我们下笔的时候
for example when we make a move

需要淡墨入笔
and need start from light ink

那么就在这个
then at this point

有墨的笔上
add a little bit clean water

再加点清水
at brush tip

如果再画
if still need to draw more

那么就是淡墨
it can turn into light ink

越画越重
and it can turn to darker ink

越来越重
darker and darker

这也是一种墨色变化
this is also kind of ink change

这越来越重了
it’s getting darker here

这最后这个墨色
the ink appearance now

就和这个重墨
attached with the dark ink

就衔接上了
they well attached with each other

这是追求墨色的
this is one type of

调墨的用笔的一种方法
ink adjustment

在用笔同时呢
at the same when using brush

要发挥墨的
we need show ink performance

极大的表现性
while working with ink

这个没有墨色的变化
without ink changing

我们感觉很干枯
it feels very dry

没有生机
lack of vividness

就像这样的一个用笔
brush movement like this

这都属于没有墨色变化
in here it lack of ink changing

这是点叶
this is dot leaves

下面我们看看树干
let’s take a look at the trunk

树干也是先解决用笔
also use your brush

我们这个同学
in here

树干的用笔
the brush movement in trunk drawing

就感觉非常生
it feels very lively

不懂曲
don’t draw curve lines

只能画直线 不能画曲线
straight lines only

然后这个线条就比较生疏
the line in here is kind of rigid

不是很熟练
not well practiced

用笔很迟疑
Hesitating with brush using

控笔的能力比较弱
The ability of brush control is weak

不会产生很多的变化
lack of changes

那么我们现在树干的用笔
the brush using of trunk drawing

要中锋 顺锋走
needs center style, follow brush tip

它有一定的用笔的厚度感
must have the sense of thickness

那就是沉实
that’s part of quality of line

所以说我们这个线条
so we say the line we draw

像这样的线条
like in here

这样的线条
and lines in here

都缺少熟练程度
it’s not well practiced

穿插非常清楚
it should be clearly interspersed

中锋 顺锋走
with center style, follow your brush tip

然后里头是短线皴
with short line Cun technique inside

这个线条在手上
the lines come out from your hand

把控得非常平稳
will be nice

非常稳
and steady

很有弹性
Very flexible

不是很生
instead of raw

不知道往哪去
or unclear

然后也控制不了
or feels out of control

不是这样
unlike this

所以说我们的线条要熟练
So we have to be skilled in our lines

这是控笔能力
This is the ability to control the brush

那么这个同学用墨
about ink using

全是用灰墨
it’s too much gray ink in here

当然用笔也有很大问题
also have some brush using issue

用笔比较琐碎
kind of trivial

长线 短线没有区分
didn’t distinguish short lines and long lines

那么还是
it’s still

他这个用墨的变化
issue of ink using

不是很大
not enough

我们得需要
we need

有这样一个好的习惯
have the habit that

蘸笔 用笔蘸墨
be very clear about

笔到笔根的变化
the process of adding ink, mixing ink and water

一定要心里很清楚
we have to be clear about that

线条太碎
don’t be too trivial

这个树是以线造型
this tree is formed with lines

中国绘画都是以线造型
line is one of the essential forming element in Chinese painting

通过线条的穿插
Interspersed with lines

解决造型问题
it resolved the forming problem

感觉既有体积
feel the volume

然后物像的形象特征
and then the image features of the object image

都在几条线上就能解决
It can be solved on several lines

这是中国绘画的一个特点
This is a feature of Chinese painting

需要穿插
Need to be interspersed

有墨色变化
Ink change

这就是树干
This is the trunk drawing

要讲究以线造型
Pay attention to line forming method

线条有弹性
Lines are flexible

墨色要有变化
The ink color has changes
