General Introduction to the Site

The Great Tang All Day Mall is located at the foot of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Yanta District, Xi’an city. It is running 2100m from north to south and 500m from east to west and covers a total construction area of 650,000 square meters. The Great Tang All Day Mall is the largest sculpture landscape pedestrian street in Asia and the country's first street with face-scanning software payment function.

Taking the Tang Dynasty culture as its design theme, the pedestrian mall strives to create a one-stop consumer paradise that integrates shopping, dining, entertainment, leisure, tourism and business. The Axis of the Great Tang All Day Mall is a 1,500-meter central and sculptured pedestrian street. It is surrounded by nine theme sculpture groups such as the emperors, historical figures, heroic stories, and classic works of art, offering three-dimensional representations of the Tang Dynasty's supremacy in the fields of religion, art, science and technology.

The Main Attractions

The Great Tang All Day Mall was themed on China Tang Dynasty culture. It consists of four squares, four cultural venues and five cultural sculptures. The four squares are the Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Square, Master Xuan Zang Square，Zhenguang Square and Kaiyuan Square; The four cultural venues are Xi’an Concert Hall, Shaanxi Opera House, Xi’an Art Gallery and Qujiang Pacific Film City; and the five cultural sculptures include（教师退出，图15,16,17,18,19依次出现） Tang Dynasty Buddha Culture Sculpture, Tang Dynasty Hero Sculpture, Governing of Emperor Zhenguang Sculpture, Emperor Wuzetian Sculpture and Kaiyuan Prosperity Sculpture. The Great Tang All Day Mall is the best place in Xi’an and even China to experience Tang Dynasty culture and history.

The Northern Square

The Northern Square is the biggest Tang-culture plaza in Asia, with the biggest musical fountain and the largest-scale sculptures. It consists of the musical waterscape fountain, cultural plaza, gardens, cultural corridor and tourism facilities. Taking the pagoda as the central axis, it is trisected: in the center is the largest musical fountain of Asia, and on both sides are some specially designed scenic spots showing the spirit of Buddhism and the Tang Dynasty. The square is a combination of the ancient Tang culture and the modern civilization.

Zhenguan Square

Zhenguan Square is the core part of the Great Tang All Day Mall, consists of 4 cultural buildings -- Xi’an Concert Hall, Shaanxi Opera House, Xi’an Art Gallery and Qujiang Pacific Film City. The square adopts a vertical design, with four sunken squares on the ground floor to organically link the ground and underground activities.

Wanguolaichao Sculpture

After the reign of Zhenguan and the flourishing era of Kaiyuan, the Tang Dynasty became the most prosperous and civilized country in the world at that time, and a paradise in the East that all countries in the world yearned for. Chang 'an, today’s Xi’an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, was the holy land that was expected by all, and was home to many foreigners. Tang culture spread far and wide, and Chinese civilization influenced the world. Wanguolaichao Sculpture depicts exactly the scene that envoys from tens of countries come to pay respects to Emperor Tai Zong.

Emperor Wuzetian Sculpture

The sculpture was built to remember Emperor Wu Zetian - the only female emperor in Chinese history. This group of sculptures presents the scene that Wu Zetian goes on a journey followed by housecarls and imperial maids. The sculptures were built based on the painting of “Queen's Journey” by Zhang Xuan, a famous Tang Dynasty female painter.

Tang Dynasty Historical and Cultural Relief Pillars

Surrounding Emperor Wu Zetian Sculpture, there are 24 pillars, of Tang Dynasty Dougong (bucket arch) architecture style, presenting 48 important cultural events of the Tang Dynasty, such as "Qujiang Banquet”, “Silk Road”, “Lantern Exhibition on Lantern Festival”, in the form of reliefs.

Lantern Exhibition at the Site

As a core zone to host lantern exhibition, the Great Tang All Day Mall attracts millions of visitors on Lantern Festival every year. Tourists from home and abroad come to experience Chinese culture and history that date back around 1300 years ago. The biggest attraction of the Lantern Festival is the sea of lanterns in every size and shape. On the Lantern Festival, colorful glass-free 3D light show was exhibited. People from all the world enjoy the atmosphere of Chinese New Year in Xi'an with a long history and profound cultural connotations. The light show makes Xi'an citizens and tourists feast their eyes.

Apart from buildings and sculptures inside the Site, one of the most famous attractions at the Site in recent days must be the tumbler acted by a beautiful girl, which has attracted thousands of visitors coming here to take a photo. The girl rolls her body with music and expresses her unique charm. It has become a popular scene here.
