Summary(강의 마무리)
What we have to keep in mind is you have to understand filial piety in the context of Jung. Filial piety represents relationship, what children have to do for their parents. But before the filial piety, the parents have to take care of their children. Jung is basis of our relationship. And because parents have sacrificed and taken care of you, because you have experienced love and affection from your parents, you want to take care of them and you want to be obedient. What is important? Obedience is important because you assume that parents are taking care of you. You cannot examine the filial piety without understanding the concept of Jung. You should not only examine the concept of Jung, you have to also examine the concept of filial piety. In the West, there is a concept of rights and there is a concept of duty. The rights have to be balanced by the duty. In Korea, we have concept of Jung which has to be balanced by the concept of filial piety.
