Summary(강의 마무리)
Korean economy has grew very rapidly. We have modernized and we live in a very safe, very controlled environment. But we have a problem. Koreans do not trust strangers and we do not trust one another. What Korean society needs to develop is shin, trust at the societal level based on morality of relationship, based on ethics of rules and governance and not based on very close relationships or yeongo.
We have to judge people based on who they are, what they can be and provide equal opportunities including woman. It is through openness and it is through engagement that we can have a healthy, productive, and happy society.
Next Week(다음 강의 안내)
So far we looked at family, school and organizations. In Week 14, we will look at society and we will look at political system, trust and social capital. If you don’t trust one another then systems cannot work. This is why scholars call this social capital.
