【Case Discussion】CHAPTER 1

Mr. Wang, aged 69, is retired and widowed and lives alone. He has a son who lives permanently in a foreign country. After he retires, he becomes a volunteer in the community where he lives. He lives a busy and enriched life. He applies to be the administrator of the residence building where he lives and gets involved in the work of collecting demographic information of the community, monitoring the sanitary condition of the community, and organizing festival celebration activities. In 2017, he found that there was a potential safety hazard in the children's play facilities of the community. Under his proposals, the community and proper management repaired and upgraded the children's play facilities. In 2018, he utilized his knowledge and proposed raising the green level of the community on behalf of the community residents, which was accepted and responded. However, during a round of sanitary inspection of the community, Mr. Wang fell down accidentally and had the left femoral neck broken. During hospitalization, his son returns to China to look after him. Although his son takes good care of him, he cannot understand Mr. Wang. He believes that "since his father is of old age, he should stay at home and go outdoors less frequently to avoid accidents." Mr. Wang feels very sad and dejected, knowing this thought of his son.

After discharge from the hospital, the son of Mr. Wang wants him to live abroad with him so that Mr. Wang can receive better care. For fear of failure to adapt to life in a foreign country, Mr. Wang refuses to go. However, due to this bone fracture, Mr. Wang has a strong feeling that he may not be able to take care of himself. Now Mr. Wang's son is thinking of choosing appropriate elderly care services for his father.

Questions:
