By learning the previous two sections, we know how DNA is assembled from double helix into chromosome. But in fact, chromosome is a highly dynamic complex. Along with DNA replication, gene transcription and cell cycle, the higher order structure of chromatin probably varies from one region to the next in a single chromosome, and from moment to moment in the life of a cell. This highly dynamic chromatin remodeling activity plays an important role in the physiological and pathological process. In this section, you will learn about the state changes of chromatin under the action of chromatin remodeling complex, and the effects of histone tails’ modification on the chromatin structure.
The key points of this section include:
1、Chromatin Remodeling
{ Chromatin remodeling complexes
{ The functions of SWI/SNF, ISWI and SWR1 remodeling complex
2、Nucleosome modification
{ Acetylation, Methylation, Phosphorylation
{ Effects of nucleosome modification on chromatin structure
{ Nucleosome positioning can be directed by DNA-binding proteins or particular DNA sequences.
