笔墨训练的第三讲
The third lecture on brush and ink training
通过斧劈皴练练控笔的能力
through “Fupi" technique, students would
gain better ability in brush control
墨色变化和斧劈的笔势关系
and we will also study the relationship between
Ink color and gesture
斧劈顾名思义
“Fupi” style is just as the name suggests
斧劈柴痕的感觉
it just like the texture of axe crush firewood marks
比较方正爽直
pretty straight forward
而且水墨淋漓
And the texture is like of water and in dripping
我来演示一下
Let me demonstrate
斧劈的用笔的形状
The shape of the “Fupi" style
是什么样的一个表达性
What kind of character in such expression?
斧劈它有一个条件
There is one condition
可以用狼毫
You can work with wolf feather brush
水分要大
in large amount of water
然后采用的纸张
the paper we choose
应该是宣纸当中的熟宣
should be “shu xuan”
就是矾过的纸
which is xuan paper sunk by alumen
不是很洇
not too sensitive paper
才能把斧劈的
only this type of paper can express the appearance of
斧劈柴痕的感觉
axe crush texture
表达得很清楚
it can be well expressed Fully and thoroughly
表达比较充分和透彻
thoroughly and clearly
那么它基本的笔法是这样
Then its basic brush movement is like this
水分要大
large amount of water
下笔就走
move the brush immediately when engaged
一定要送到
must be all the way to the end
用笔要送到
in each brush movement
大的阔笔我们能表达
with Large and wide brush using
而且小的我们也能表达
also we can work with smaller ones
细的也能表达
or thinner brushes
再细一点
or even thinner brushes
这是斧劈的基本的形状
This is the basic shape of the “Fupi”
那么我们现在是需要
Then now we need
斧劈的控笔能力
have ability of brush control
我们一笔下去
after one stroke
它是侧锋用笔
which is side style
用面来皴
use side way to make Cun stroke
控笔能力我们得需要练
it often takes long time to practice
经常会出现顿的时间很长
and always occur that the form turns out to be too fat
然后起笔很臃肿
when we finish
扫的时候是鼠尾
may get a rat tail if sweeping
力量送不到
with inappropriate movement
这个力量就减弱了
This power is much weakened
所以说这个斧劈啊
so this “Fupi” techique
下笔要阔笔
need to work with wide brush
马上就走
move it quickly
然后力量送到
with appropriate power
送到
all the way to the end of form
你准备皴多长
How long you want to make the stroke
那么你就送到什么位置
How long you sent your power to
这是一个要求
this is the first requirement
现在就是
now
关键就是比较难以把握
The key is it’s more difficult to well draw
就是斧劈的组合关系
the combination in “Fupi” style
这个组合关系
this combination
我们通过以上两讲
in previous two lectures
无论是披麻还是牛毛
in “Pima” or “Niumao” style
我们现在又来到了
now we finally come to
斧劈的这一节的训练
the section of “Fupi” style technique training
那么它的组织规律
in its organization study
我们发现一个
we’ll find
共同的一个规律
a common law
就是因素的矛盾
which is the contradiction of factors
还能协调在一起的
it a organization that coordinated
这么一个组合
multiple conflict elements
那么相对矛盾
and relatively contradictory elements
我们看用笔的长与短
when we look at the length and shortness of the brush movement
这个斧劈的大与小
the size of it
然后宽与窄
the shape of it
浓与淡 干与湿
Thickness and wetness
疏密 松紧
Denseness and tightness
这都是相对因素
These are relative factors
我们要创造这种
We want to create this
相对因素在一起的组合
Combination of relative factors together
所以说斧劈
so when making “Fupi” style
两笔之间不能同样大小
don’t make two strokes in same size
有大有小 有主有次
better make it in different size in order to have primary and secondary difference
然后长短不能一边长
not same length
长短应该有错落感
There should be a sense of up and down
在用笔的过程当中
In the process of moving brush
它从重墨到淡墨到水
It would shift from dark ink to light ink and until there is only water left in brush
有个渐次的变化
We call it a gradual shift process
这里头参差错落
The cross over between each strokes
然后互相生发变化
change from each other
是非常神妙的
It is very interesting
这些都能产生
these can create a sense of
用笔组织上的厚度
thickness between the strokes in different layers
和丰富的变化的一种结果
and a result of rich changes
那么我们不能抽象的
we can’t practice this technique abstractly
练斧劈的大与小
pay attention of the different size of this style
宽与窄 疏与密
Width and narrowness
所以说中国画的特点
So we say the characteristics of Chinese painting
还是要借助一些物像
Still have to take advantage of form of objects
把这些抽象的笔墨痕迹
combine these abstract ink traces
借助物像的束缚
with the help of the image shape
来发挥它的极致
To create the greatest expression performance of it
创造它的生命的感觉
To give it feeling of life
在临摹当中
during studying and practicing
也会给同学们
we will also
提供一些课稿
provide some art samples and drafts
训练的方法

也是通过临摹这个课稿
is also through these samples and drafts
来实现我们用笔的能力
To achieve our ability in brush working
我现在来演示一下
Now I am going to demonstrate it
斧劈皴它的轮廓是
The shape of the “Fupi” style is like here
中锋直线
Draw straight line in center style
造型方正爽直
Draw the shape of object straightly and directly
所以说不能太圆润
not too round
比较硬朗 爽直
It need to be tough and straight
笔墨走到这个时候
to this point
我们就可以施加皴法
we can apply Cun technique
因为勾皴的墨色
since the ink color of outline and inside
不能差距太大
can’t be too much different
我们皴完第一遍
after the first layer
我们还可以复皴
we can add it again
复皴的目的也是
The purpose of redo it is also
寻找它的浓淡干湿
to create different texture
包括用笔的
including brush movement
疏密大小的
and intensity difference
组织的一个调整
the process of organization
这是斧劈皴的一个过程
this is the process of making “Fupi” style
斧劈皴
the “Fupi” technique
它是一个典型的面皴
is a typical side-way brush movement
我们通过斧劈皴
through the whole
整个的训练
training process of “Fupi” style
我们还可以解决
we can resolve
类似于面皴的
similar problems of other type of Cun
比如说中国传统
such as in traditional Chinese painting
山水画的
especially in landscape painting
什么刮铁皴
like the “Gua Tie” Cun
(马牙皴)
(as known as horse tooth style )
这些都是通过侧锋
they are all through the side-way brush stroke
平面创造一种用笔的形象
to create art form on flat surface
我们现在训练到这
until now
我们介绍了三种皴法的
we introduced three type of Cun
用笔的方法
in the method of brush movement
包括它们组织的原则
including the discipline of organization
那么我们基本上
well, basically
掌握了线条的皴法
we already covered the method of line drawing
线条里包括直线的线条
Including straight lines
和曲线的线条
and curve lines
然后我们现在
now
这节课又解决了
