4.1 表达观点的词语

比尔·盖茨给出了如下观点
(1) 我一直以来都是乐观派 我想我的乐观来源于一种信念
我相信创造和智慧的力量可以使这个世界变得更好
(2) 但我们曾深信个人电脑能改变世界
(3) 我认为电脑是最神奇的工具
电脑可以帮助我们满足好奇心 发挥创造力
解决连最聪明的人都不能独立解决的问题
(4) 我认为我个人的好运伴随着一种责任
我有责任回报这个世界
(5) 作为一名父亲 我认为一个非洲孩子的死亡
与其他任何地方小孩的死亡一样 是令人心碎的悲剧
(6) 我仍然是坚定的乐观主义者 我认为即便是世界上最艰难
的问题也有解决的可能性 实际上这些可能每天都在实现
(7) 而且 我相信 凭借我们天生的创造性和创造力
还有解决艰难问题的意愿 在我有生之年

你使用了哪些其他提出观点的表达
在你在演讲或论文写作过程中
今天的课堂主要讲讲表达观点的词语
(1) in somebody’s opinion/view是一条常见的短语
不要用 According to my opinion
如果你想表达 我认为 你可以说 in my opinion
比如
他们的担忧 在我看来 完全合乎情理
我认为法院作出了正确的判决
在伽利略看来 最重要的是
接受事实并建立一个与之相适应的理论
(2) for somebody用于说明他人观点
尤其是当这一观点普遍受到认同
并且影响自己对某一主题的其他想法
For somebody 通常出现在句首
例如
维果斯基认为 语言是一个抽象的规则系统
人类的大脑用来传递和接收想法
维果斯基认为 社会因素在智力发展中发挥着根本作用
(3) from sb’s point of view用于描述某人
基于某事对他们影响而作出的反应
例如
在他们看来 这个系统运行良好
从街上普通人的角度考虑一下情况很重要
(4) 当你想强调你是在谈论一个特定的人或群体的意见时
可以使用as far as somebody is concerned
例如
在他看来 这次失败体现了军事干预的局限性
在执政党看来 本次选举只是例行公事
(5) have/hold an opinion用于表达持有特定观点
例如
对于美国的象征意义 每个人的想法各异
他们在许多问题上持有相同的意见
选民对政客们的评价往往很低
据最近一项研究 十几岁的女生普遍认为自己比同龄男生更擅长学习
(6) be of the opinion that/take the view that用于表达
持有特定观点 是较为正式的短语
例如
在那之前 大多数科学家认为
这些天气变化符合既有的气候模式
莱维特认为低价是市场营销成功的关键
(7) give/express/voice an opinion用来表达你对某件事的看法
express an opinion和voice an opinion比give an opinion要更为正式
但传递的是同一个意思
例如
其他作家对这一主题也表达了相似的观点
在演讲中 他只是表达了当时许多人持有的观点
委员会尚未就此事发表意见
(8) make your views known (about something)是用来告诉人们你的观点
特别是在决定影响你的事情时可以考虑这些观点
例如
老人鲜少有机会让人们了解自己的想法
(9) it seems to me that 用于表达你认为某事有可能正确
当你深思熟虑后想要给出整体观点之时
这句表达尤为常用
例如
在我看来 她的论点有些道理
(10) somebody’s opinion/view is that
用于引用他人对事物的看法
例如
法官的意见是她适合接受审判
他的观点是消费者应当知晓他们所买产品的全部信息
人们普遍认为联合疫苗效果更佳
