比如,当写到“以老师为中心还是学生为中心的课堂”的优缺点时,
许多人喜欢用同样的句式。
事实上,这位同学是在尝试用预测或建议的方式写结论段。
这种方式给读者留下了继续思考的空间。
预测是对未来将要发生的事情的描述;
而建议是指针对某一情形或问题,提议我们应该如何做。
这一点在下面段落的例子中可见一斑。
当写到(生活中的)不速之客时,作者说:
也许最好的办法是接受失望,并从某种程度上尽量利用它:
跨越这些不速之客并且乐观地对待生活。
结论段是你向读者强调论点并且自然、优雅地结束全文的好机会。
除了我们已经熟悉的方法,
今天我们将基于课文A学习另外两种结尾方式。
这是课文A的最后一段。
作者用了什么方式来结尾呢?
首先,我们来阅读红色字体的句子。
显然,作者使用了发人深省的引用手段。
精妙的引用对于回扣你的论点非常有效。
这两个句子被引用来回扣论点:
没有经历过风险,人们也许永远不知道自己的极限,
因此,也许永远不知道作为一名生命个体的意义……
只有通过冒险才能实现伟大。
这一段是关于保护环境的文章。
“拯救地球就是拯救我们自己”回扣了论点“拯救环境取决于我们每一个人”。
许多文学经典中充满了发人深思的引用。
例如,在《寂静的春天》第二章中,作者引用了琼•罗斯坦的话:
“忍受的义务给予我们了解真相的权力”来回扣论点“公众必须决定是否继续维持现状,
而他们只有充分了解事实才能做出决断”。
现在我们回到文章的中心。
即“没有经历过风险,人们也许永远不知道自己的极限,
因此也许永远不知道作为一名生命个体的意义……
只有通过冒险才能实现伟大。
这向我们展示了第三种结尾的方式,即用总结和最终观点作结尾。
大家知道,教官训练新兵时,每节课都遵循“三步走”:
告诉他们你将要说的。
告诉他们。
告诉他们你说了什么。
用总结的方式结束文章与此大同小异。
在论述完主题(告诉读者你将要说的)
并完成支持主题(告诉读者)后,
你要重申论点和要支持的观点(告诉读者你说了什么)。
要注意的是总结往往伴随评论,这样的评论能够圆满结束全文和讨论。
现在让我们回顾一下我们学习过的三种方式。
你可以用其中一种方法或多种结合使用来写结论段。
1) 用预测或建议作结尾。
2) 使用发人深思的引用。
3) 用总结和最终观点作结尾。
