the motivated sequence

It is a well-used method of organizing

persuasive speeches that inspire people

to take immediate action

Now let's learn each step in detail

Let's practice what we have learned

and make a persuasive speech

using the motivated sequence

The title of my speech is

Give a change to your weekend life

Last week I did a survey about how students

in our university usually spend their weekends

and whether they try to get out of campus

and do something different say

take a vacation somewhere

To my surprise most of the students I interviewed

replied that they normally just slept late

till noon at weekends

Being a student who enjoys going out

a lot at weekends

today I want to encourage you to change

your weekend life through doing something different

especially through doing some outdoor activities

Not trying to do something different at weekends

could be bad for you

First of all you could be living with stress all the time

Besides it will makes you dizzy and lazy

Actually there are so many different things

you can do to enrich your life on weekends

Particularly I want to suggest that

you visit places of interest

You may argue that you don't go out

because you have too much schoolwork

But what if you plan your weekend early

and set pri'orities so that

there would be time for you to go

You may also say you have money concerns

and are afraid that going out too often will cost you a lot

But how little money it will cost if you go to

the nearby places of interest by bike or by bus

and then have a simple picnic lunch

So the reason in my opinion for you to

remain so inactive on weekends is actually

your reluctance or laziness to make a move

There are so many benefits you can enjoy

if you are willing to change your life on weekends

First going out of campus for some outdoor activities

gives you the opportunity to reduce stress

and prevents burnout

so you will return to study feeling refreshed

Second it enriches your life and helps you

to avoid the mo'notony of your normal routines

Third it gives you a chance to meet new people

or learn about the local places

Fourth being outdoors

you will be able to breathe more fresh air

which can be highly beneficial to your physical health

So ladies and gentlemen

why do you still hesitate about planning some

outdoor activities for your next weekend

Why not decide now to change your habit

of sleeping away the weekends

I suggest that you make a plan today

and go ahead with it Thank you
