We are going to learn

the fifth part of Unit 6 today

Adding Emphasis

First let's listen to four conversations

What may be suitable headlines

for the four stories in the conversations

Read all the headlines by yourself quickly

Match the stories on the left with the tittles

on the right as you listen

In daily speech

you sometimes want to add emphasis to

what you say in order to strengthen your point

or draw more attention from the listener

The conversations you have just listened to provide

typical examples of how to emphasize something

Here are four types of expressions

and structures you can use

同学们你们掌握了如何强调说话内容的表达了吗

Rewrite the sentences in the conversation

using the words in brackets to add emphasis

Have you finished Let's check the answers

Adequately employing these expressions

will significantly help you master

how to add emphasis in conversation

Now you are supposed to do a role play

based on the following situations

Use the skills for adding emphasis

Please work in pairs and do the role play

Now it's time to show your conversation
