1.7.The singing tune in shadow play课程教案、知识点、字幕

In the last episode,

we were deeply impressed by the exquisite "shadow puppets".

Certainly, in addition to role figures,

there are a great many settings,

including dragons, phoenix, birds, beasts, trees and flowers, insects and fishes,

stone hill and gate, pavilions and halls,

weapons, displays, boats and carts, cities, bridges, towers, etc.,

and they are all designed to coordinate the shadow puppets

and characterized by distinct shadow play features.

Now, let's start with "Qimo".

Props in shadow play

Qimo

"Qimo" is the term of operas.

It is the general name of large and small utensils and simple settings on the opera stage,

for example, the four treasures of the Chinese study (brush, ink, paper and inkstone),

hearth, horsewhip, paddle, a table and two chairs.

"Qimo" in shadow play refers to the props as those we use in movies and TV dramas.

The performance of shadow play requires many props,

generally including eighteen kinds of weapons,

various animations, tables, chairs, furniture, rocks and trees, etc.,

serving as an important part of shadow play.

The matching of these props and shadow puppets makes the shadow play more delicate and expressive.

In addition, the whole play is supplemented by lights.

Thus, a magnificent shadow puppet will be presented to the audience.

Weapons

In military plays, fights are contained,

and various weapons are for different figures.

The audience can tell its role by their weapons.

In the shadow play Beat the White Bone Demon for Three Times,

we can distinguish Su Wukong by his golden cudgel.

In the shadow play Water Margin,

we can distinguish the leopard head Lin Chong by his spear.

In the shadow play Mu Guiying Takes Command,

we can distinguish Mu Guiying by her embroidered velvet broadsword.

Animals

In addition to the characters,

there are many vivid animals in shadow play.

Animals, such as tigers, horses, pigs and dogs,

are generally composed of four parts, head, body, tail and limbs.

For some animal puppets, the upper and lower jaws and tails can be separated to make the performance,

such as biting and wagging, more vivid.

Birds move mainly with two wings.

In the production,

the wings are generally separated to create a vivid flying performance.

Coordination of mythical creatures celestial beings

In the process of structural planarization of utensil props in shadow play,

including the general's tents,

tables and gums,

attention shall be also be paid to the perspective view to ensure the stereo perception.

Moreover, they are designed with decorative patterns to reach a better effect.

In terms of matching,

the tables and chairs are all matched for specific roles.

Setting of Shadow Play

Flats

In addition to touching plot and verisimilar performance,

flats like beautiful plants,

houses and rocks are necessary in a shadow play to vivify the plots and scenes.

Flat refers to a scenic element that is used in a shadow play to serve as a foil to the plot.

It is made from leather after carving.

During a show, flats are placed still on the screen and changed as needed by the plot.

Such as the pavilion, tree, lotus and other flats used in the shadow play - Search for A Fish.

As for design of these elements,

the artistic form combining both stereoscopic perceptions and plane structures is commonly employed,

which enables a set of flats to be perfectly displayed on just one plane from different angles,

without the limitation of space.
