The famous director Chen Kaige once made a film,

the Legend of the Demon Cat.

It left a deep impression on us.

Especially the Magnificent Concubine,

Yang Yuhuan in the movie,

all are impressed by the elegant image and perfect style.

Then, let's see how the students adapted the plot of the film into a new shadow play,

the Legend of the Demon Cat.

In this play, the role,

Yang Yuhuan, was designed with distinctive features.

As we can see,

her head style is different from those we've learned before.

Her status was not expressed by the hairpin.

Instead, her noble temperament and status were represented by the bouquet headwear.

The headwear was not carved with hollow-out,

and it was decorated with rich colors and patterns to embody the style features of the female role.

Especially,

we applied the techniques on the body proportion,

and shaped exaggerated style based on the proportion of the upper body, lower body and head part,

creating a strong overall sense.

The facial part was designed to be dignified and graceful.

What we just learned is the proportion of the figure and its exaggeration.

Meanwhile, the clothing part of the role was well decorated.

In order to highlight the presence of the role,

the face and headwear were emphasized.

Here, I want to stress the hand design.

We can see that the hand design in the shadow play was inspired by the hands of flying Apsaras in Dunhuang frescoes,

noble and graceful.

It is different from that of traditional female roles.

Therefore, the whole play is a bright spot featured with the exaggerated design of the head part,

the adjusted body proportion and the hand design.

The figure became more flexible and graceful through above designs.

Unfortunately, it is her beauty that leads to her tragic ending.

The role figure was well laid out in the keynote and emotional tone of the whole play.
