Hey Peter
can you tell us what role does Russia play in the Belt and Road Initiative or the BRI
Russia as a great power across Eurasia has a unique geographical location
in the BRI area and thus plays an important role in transportation
To be more specific
OK two key parts in the Belt and Road Initiative related to Russia
One is the northern economic belt that is from northwest and northeast China
via central Asia and Russia
to Europe and the Baltic Sea
Russia is the most important hub in this belt
The other one is the economic corridor of China
Mongolia and Russia which is also an economic belt
So for geographical location
Russia is a very crucial country in the BRI construction
I got it Thanks for sharing
You are welcome
Let’s explore more about Russia
Hi welcome to join this class
I am Song Wei
Let’s have an in-depth tour in Russian business scenarios
At first I want to show you a video to find out some interesting facts about Russia
Before you start
let’s take a look at the following word bank
Please read after me
Vodka
Territories
Moscow
St. Petersburg
Red Square
Kremlin
Caucasus Mountains
Kamchatka
Now let’s watch the video
You are suggested to take some notes about the following questions

2.What can you expect to see when stepping onto red square
3.What is the quintessential Russian experience
4.What is Russian holiday makers’favorite place
5.What is the best way of getting around with many comfortable overnight services
between far-flung cities in Russia
The world’s largest country offers it all
from historic cities and idyllic countryside to artistic riches epic train rides
and a vodka fueled nightlife
Russia is vast geographically and culturally
so best viewed as a collection of distinct territories
each one deserving separate attention
Here Moscow and St. Petersburg are the must-see destinations
and within easy reach our towns and villages
that measure up to a rural Russia of a popular imagination
Stepping onto Red Square never ceases to inspire
The tall towers and imposing walls of the Kremlin
and the majestic red bricks of the state History Museum
all inserting a vast stretch of cobblestones
The quintessential Russian experience is visiting a traditional bathhouse
Forget your modesty
strip down and brave the steam room at the lights of Moscow sandini baths
Little can prepare most visitors for the scale
and quality of the exhibits at the state Hermitage Museum
comprising an almost unrivaled history of western art
There are also superb antiques sculpture and jewelry on display
The serene Black Sea coast has long been a favorite of Russian holiday makers
for its seaside towns and magnificent scenery in the nearby Caucasus Mountains
It seems almost trite to describe Kamchatka as majestic
To many it is a quite simply the most beautiful place in the world
High season runs June through September
Late spring and early autumn see the country bathed in the fresh greenery
or russet shades of the seasons
Travel costs in Russia can range from less than 1500 Rubles a day
if you enjoy a dorm bed and café meals to over 4000 Rubles a day
for a top-end hotel and ballet tickets
The extensive train network is the best way of getting around
with many comfortable overnight services between far-flung cities
Buses are useful for getting into places not covered by the train
Whether you are a culture vulture in search of inspiration from great artists and writers
or an adventure addict looking for new horizons to conquer
the very possibilities will make your heads spin

Its official name is the Russian Federation
The official language is Russian
The currency is Ruble
And the capital city is Moscow
Russia is a country located in Eastern Europe
with an extensive territory spanning North Asia
Russia is the ninth most populous country in the world
and the most populous country in Europe
Because of its geographical location
Russian culture is a melting pot of European and Asian traditions
This diversity can be shown not only in its architecture and art
but in the character and lifestyle of its people
Even the two main cities
Moscow and St. Petersburg
are totally different in character
Moscow is an ancient capital full of churches and monasteries
Its heart
the Kremlin
brings you to the 15th century instantly
the time of grand princes and tsars
while it is one of the most rapidly developing cities in the world
greatly influenced by the West
St. Petersburg is an elegant city of palaces and grand estates
that was founded by Peter the Great to become Russia’s “Window to Europe”
Russia is a country of great composers
Musicians
ballet dancers and artistic traditions
Concert halls such as the Tchaikovsky Conservatory are ever popular
and the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres are among the most important ballet
