1.Prelude

The wonderful legend Lu Xun heard, which claimed that eating the human-shape Heshouwu can transform a man to a god,brought mysterious color to Heshouwu.

What kind of medicine is Heshouwu exactly?

 

2.Historical past of Heshouwu

Heshouwu’s name comes from a story that Heshouwu can help having child.

Heshouwu was mentioned in Materia Medica of the Kaibao Reign as a medicine that can help benefit muscles, bones and essence, prolong lifespan with long-term taking.

Materia Medica of the Kaibao Reign recorded that Heshouwu can black the hair and freshen one's complexion.

Ni Zhumo from the end of Ming dynasty mentioned that the although the predecessors said Heshouhu can nourish essence and blood.

 

3.Dual use of Heshouwu

Unprepared Heshouwu has the effects for moistening intestines to relieve constipation, removing toxin and curing malaria and is mainly used for moistening intestines to relieve constipation. The unprepared Heshouwu can also remove toxin and heal the pruritus.

 

Processed Heshouwu was steamed for nine times and dred in sun for another nine times with unprepared one.

Processed Heshouwu is a medicine for tonifying blood and can be used to deal with common blood-deficiency syndromes.

Secondly,Processed Heshouwu can tonify essence and blood and mainly used to treat kidney essence insufficiency,which is also the basis of its deification since the ancient times.
