The motivation method of the boss
Li and Wang work in the technology department of an IT company after graduation. Li is a pragmatic employee, so he works hard every day. Wang is smarmy, flattering his leads frequently. After a month, Li's performance is outstanding, which impresses colleagues, while Wang was mediocre.
At the end of the month, leaders, for encouragement, especially prepare an award of 'best new employee'. However, what surprises everyone is that Wang wins the award instead of Li, and the lead praises Wang very much and asks others to learn from Wang.
Li is upset because of it while Wang is triumphant. He wants to thank the lead for his praise by buying him dinner after adjournment. Many new employees don’t want to fall behind so they try to please leaders.
Question: Please use reinforcement theory to analyze the problems may made by the leader through his method.
