这节课我们来学习扩散的热力学方程
通过上节课的学习
我们发现扩散动力学方程

在理论上存在不足
菲克第一定律和第二定律
都仅仅从宏观上描述了扩散所遵循的规律
但是没有指出扩散的推动力
那么热力学研究的目标是
把扩散系数和晶体结构联系起来
把扩散系数和晶体结构联系起来
研究对象也发生了变化
由单一质点的自扩散
转变为研究多种质点的互扩散过程
转变为研究多种质点的互扩散过程
在扩散体系中
定向宏观物质流的出现
是由于在浓度梯度条件下
大量扩散质点作无规则布朗运动的结果
因此很容易认为
浓度梯度就是扩散的推动力
然而实际上
即使体系不存在浓度梯度
只要扩散质点受到某一力场的作用
就会出现定向物质流
因此我们下面根据广泛适用的热力学理论
从体系的化学位梯度出发
讨论扩散系数的热力学关系
给出扩散推动力的确切表征
此时当化学位梯度趋向于零的时候
扩散也就达到了平衡
我们来看一下热力学方程的推导过程
假设在多组份中
i组分质点由高化学位向低化学位进行扩散
i组分质点由高化学位向低化学位进行扩散
那么质点所受到的力就是F就是
即化学位除以距离
在这个扩散模型中
体积元中有多个组分
i组分质点扩散时所受到的力就是Fi
因为相应质点运动平均速度Vi
正比于作用力Fi
所以可以写成
可以把它定义成
单位作用力下i组分质点的平均速度或者是淌度
所以在Fi作用力下的平均速度Vi就是Bi乘以Fi
然后又因为组分i质点的扩散通量Ji=CiVi
这个Ci指的是单位体积中i组份的质点数
也就是它的体积浓度
Vi是质点移动的平均速度
它的单位是厘米每秒
把刚才求得的 带进来
得到这个式子
给分子分母上的同乘以
再和菲克第一定律相比较
发现扩散系数D就等于
又因为摩尔分数Ni等于i组分的浓度Ci与体系浓度C的比值
再带进去就得到下面这个式子
假设研究体系不受外场作用
化学位是系统组成活度和温度的函数

最终得到扩散系数的热力学方程
也叫爱因斯坦-能斯特方程
如下面式子表示:
在这个方程中
叫做扩散系数的热力学因子
对于理想混合体系
活度系数
热力学因子就等于1
热力学因子就等于1
这个时候Di与自扩散系数Di*相等
Di是组分i的分扩散系数
或本征扩散系数
对于非理想混合体系
则有以下两种情况:
(1) 当 >0则Di>0
发生的是由高浓度向低浓度的扩散
即正扩散
结果使溶质趋于均匀化;
例如我们在水里边滴一滴钢笔水
发生正扩散
(2) 当 <0则Di<0
发生的是由低浓度向高浓度的扩散
即负扩散
扩散的结果使溶质偏聚或分相
包括固溶体中有序无序相变、
玻璃在旋节区分相
和晶界上选择性吸附过程等
我们来看两个负扩散的实例
左图是玻璃分相的一个透射电镜照片
玻璃成分是75SiO2-20B2O3-5Na2O mol%
在500-600 ºC热处理后
由均一一相分成互不相容的两相
富SiO2相和富硼酸钠的两相
这说明在化学位梯度的推动下
体系中的质点
由低浓度向高浓度区扩散
而使SiO2富集于一相
图中显示为连通相;
富硼酸钠富集于另一相
图中显示为孤立的液滴状
分相后
体系的自由能降低
我们可以利用玻璃的分相现象
制备分相色釉料
负扩散现象在陶瓷材料中也很常见
图中所示是非常典型的陶瓷晶界微观组织照片
晶粒与晶粒之间存在晶界
我们可以看出晶界非常的宽
上面分布着很多微小的CeO2粒子
这是因为晶界是一种结构缺陷
由于质点的变形排列
晶界具有较高的能量
因此具有吸附外来杂质的能力
晶体中的杂质质点被晶界表面吸附后
使得晶界处的表面能降低
杂质质点发生负扩散
偏聚在晶界上
使其晶界处的浓度增大
我们有时候有效利用负扩散现象
可以赋予材料一些特殊的性能
可以赋予材料一些特殊的性能
