这节课我们学习晶体结构缺陷
主要内容有缺陷产生的原因 缺陷的分类
重点讲述点缺陷及其分类
缺陷化学反应方程式的书写
缺陷浓度的计算以及非化学计量化合物
首先我们来看什么是缺陷
实际晶体与理想晶体相比
有一定程度的偏离或不完美性
把两种结构发生偏离的区域就叫缺陷
那么缺陷产生的原因是什么
温度升高
质点发生热震动
偏离平衡位置
and form defects
形成缺陷
也可能由于
掺入杂质或环境气氛的改变
为什么要研究缺陷呢
研究缺陷有利于寻找排除缺陷的方法
提高材料的性能
有目的的
引入缺陷 改善材料某一方面的性能
材料的发光发色等都是以缺陷为基础的
主要给大家介绍点缺陷
点缺陷在三维方向上的尺寸都很小
处在一两个原子大小的级别
其主要有两种分类方式
实际晶体偏离理想晶体的几何位置
可分为三类
正常节点的位置没有被质点占据
空位如图所示
间隙原子
是指质点进入间隙位置如2所示
最后是杂质原子
它是指杂质原子进入晶格中
这可能是在结晶过程中混入的
或者有目的加入的
杂质原子可分为以下两类
当杂质原子进入间隙位置时
就叫间隙杂质原子
当杂质原子取代
或者置换正常结点位置的原子时
叫取代或置换杂质原子
如左图所示
白点代表的溶剂原子
黑点代表溶质原子
当溶质原子置换正常结点的溶剂原子
就形成了置换固溶体
如右图所示
小黑点是溶质原子
当小黑点进入间隙位置
就形成间隙固溶体
另外按缺陷产生的原因可分为三类
热缺陷 杂质缺陷
和非化学计量结构缺陷
首先我们来看热缺陷
什么叫热缺陷
当晶体的温度高于0 K时
由于晶格内原子热运动
一部分能量较大的原子
离开平衡位置而形成的缺陷
热缺陷主要包括Frenkel缺陷
和Schottky缺陷
首先我们来看弗伦克尔缺陷
如图所示
正常结点的原子离开原来的位置
进入间隙形成间隙原子
在原来的位置形成空位
特点是空位和间隙是成对产生的
晶体不发生体积的改变 所以密度不变化
通常来说
理想晶体中原子在平衡位置 能量较低
而进入间隙形成间隙原子能量较高
因此
实际晶体比理想晶体能量高
下面我们来看Schottky缺陷
如图
质点通过热运动跃迁到晶体的表面
而在原来的位置形成空位
就产生肖特基缺陷
需要注意的是 对于离子晶体来说
为了保持电中性
阳阴离子会同时迁移到表面
留下正离子空位和负离子空位
因而
肖特基缺陷的特点是质点迁移到表面
正离子空位和负离子空位是成对产生的
由于质点迁移到了表面
所以晶体的体积增大
那么晶体主要产生那种缺陷呢
我们可以从能量的角度来分析
形成肖特基缺陷能量较低
所以通常以肖特基缺陷为主
另一类是杂质缺陷
杂质缺陷是指
杂质原子进入晶体而产生的缺陷
它主要分为间隙杂质和置换杂质
杂质缺陷与热缺陷不同
热缺陷浓度与温度有关
杂质缺陷的浓度
只取决于杂质的溶解度和掺杂量
它可能是由于自身存在的
或有目的加入的以改善晶体的某种性能
最后一种是非化学计量结构缺陷
它是指存在于非化学计量化合物中的结构缺陷
化合物化学组成与周围环境和气氛有关
不同种类的离子或原子数之比不是整数比
比如二氧化钛,在还原气氛
一部分氧脱离原来的位置
钛氧比不是1:2 而变成1:2-x
就形成了非化学计量结构缺陷
它实质上是一个电荷缺陷
