接下来我们学习扩散传质。
此种传质针对大多数固体材料,
因为他们的蒸汽压都比较低。
尤其在硅酸盐材料烧结过程中较为常见,
采用颈部应力模型进行分析,
可以看出不同区域所受应力不同,
颈部的张应力可以用γ比ρ来计算。
应力分布如下:
球体内部是无应力区;
两球接触的中心部位受压应力作用,
而在颈部会有张应力作用,
如果粉末理想紧密堆积,
颗粒接触点上最大压应力,
相当于外加一个静压力。
然而实际情况是:
颗粒尺寸不一,
形状不规则、堆积方式不相同等,
导致接触点局部产生剪应力。
在该剪应力作用下,
晶粒间沿晶界滑移,颗粒重排,
从而使坯体堆积密度提高,
气孔率下降,坯体收缩,
但要注意颗粒形状并没有变化,
气孔不可能完全消除。
那么扩散传质产生的原因是什么呢?
什么是颗粒中心靠近机理?
在扩散传质中,
要达到颗粒中心距离缩短,
必须要有物质向气孔迁移,
气孔作为空位源,
空位进行反向迁移。
所以有必要分析一下空位浓度的变化。
那么空位浓度差由什么引起的呢?
我们已经分析了不同的区域,
它受到的应力不同,
那么由于这些应力的存在,
会对空位的形成产生一个附加功,
形成体积为Ω的空位,
所做的附加功可表示为 σ·Ω ,
即,是所受应力与体积的乘积。
这些附加功会造成,
不同区域的空位形成能不同。
如果无应力区的空位形成能是Ev,
那么张应力区的空位形成能为 Ev‘=Ev-σ·Ω,
压应力区的空位形成能可以表示为 Ev‘=Ev+σ·Ω。
可以看出,
压应力区的空位形成能最大,
无应力区次之,
张应力区最小。
空位形成能越小,
越容易形成空位,
由此,对于这三个不同位置,
可以得到它们空位浓度的差值。
具体推导过程不作详细讲解。
我们只比较空位浓度的大小,
应该是Ct>C0>Cc。
因此,空位的扩散方向是,
从高浓度的张应力区向
低浓度的压应力区和无应力区进行,
即由接触颈部向接触点和颗粒内部进行扩散。
那么相反地,质点扩散的方向是,
由颗粒表面向颈部,
或者颗粒内部向颈部进行扩散。
扩散的终点都是颈部。
扩散途径包括表面扩散,
界面扩散及体积扩散等。
如图所示,可以看出
无论哪一种扩散,
箭头都指向颈部,
意味着扩散的终点都是颈部。
包括之前讲的蒸发-凝聚传质,
落脚点也是在颈部。
接下来我们分析扩散传质的动力学关系。
那么对于扩散传质,
按照温度的高低以及扩散进行的程度,
可以分为三个阶段,
即烧结初期、烧结中期、
和烧结后期。
在烧结初期,
由于温度比较低,
所以此时是以表面扩散为主。
例如,氧化铝发生表面扩散的温度是330 ºC,
而体积扩散温度是900 ºC。
因此,在烧结初期,
温度较低,
气孔率比较大,
收缩率大概在1%左右。
这是因为表面扩散仅仅促使空隙表面光滑,
和气孔球形化,
对气孔的消失
和烧结体收缩没有明显影响。
扩散初期的动力学方程如何表达呢?
在空位浓度差的作用下,
颈部生长速率与空位扩散速率有关。
我们可以看出x/r与时间的1/5次方成正比,
并且体积收缩率,
即线收缩率的三倍,
与时间的2/5次方成正比。
具体推导过程参考书本。
所以从表面扩散的动力学方程,
我们可以得出它的主要影响因素有以下几个方面。
一是烧结时间的影响。
随着烧结时间的延长,
接触颈部扩大,
导致曲率增大,
推动力空位浓度差减小,
那么烧结速率减缓,
因此通过延长时间来促进表面扩散是不妥的。
也说明了在较低温度长时间保温,
并不能达到烧结致密化的目的。
二是颗粒半径r的影响,
颗粒越小,致密化速率越高;
三是温度的影响。
烧结温度对于扩散传质的快慢起决定性作用。
随着烧结温度的升高,
自扩散系数明显增大,
收缩率增大,致密化更容易。
假设温度和粒径恒定,
对该收缩率公式进行变形,
取对数坐标作图,
可以得到收缩率与时间的关系呈线性,
如图所示是氧化铝在烧结初期的收缩率变化,
可以看出明显的线性变化趋势。
且当烧结时间一定时,
烧结温度越高,收缩率也就越大。
同样还可以通过该公式来计算烧结活化能Q,
这将有助于我们进一步理解烧结机理。
进入烧结中期,
颗粒开始粘结、颈部扩大,
气孔由不规则状逐渐变成
由三个颗粒包围的圆柱形管道,
并且相互连通,
晶界开始移动,
晶粒正常生长。
这一阶段以晶格和晶界扩散为主。
气孔率大幅度降低至5%左右,
收缩率达到80~90%。
经过初期烧结后,
由于颈部生长,
使球形颗粒逐渐变成多面体形
可确定烧结中期坯体气孔率Pc随烧结时间t变化的关系式,
气孔率的降低和时间成正比,
因此烧结中期致密化速率较快。
烧结进入后期,
气孔已完全孤立,
晶粒已明显长大。
这个时候坯体收缩可以达到90~100%,
同样的,气孔率的降低和时间成正比,
与烧结中期相比没有明显的差别。
当温度和晶粒尺寸不变时,
气孔率随烧结时间而线性地减少。
从图中也可以看出,
在相同保温时间下,
相对密度随着烧结温度的升高而增大。
以上就是固相烧结的两种传质过程。
