这一节我们来学习相平衡研究方法
相平衡研究方法包括动态法和静态法
其中动态法包括热分析法
差热分析法
首先我们来看热分析法
此方法的原理是根据
系统冷却过程中
温度随时间的变化情况来判断系统中是否发生了相变化
实验步骤如下
首先将样品加热成液态
使其缓慢而均匀地冷却
记录系统在不同时刻的温度数据
然后以温度为纵坐
时间为横坐标
绘制出冷却曲线
我们一般记录5条组成不同系统的冷却曲线
就可以绘制出相图了
下面我们来看一个实例
以Pb-Sn相图为例
一共5个组成不同的系统
其中铅的质量百分数分别是0% 20%
40% 75% 100%
a和b为纯组分
将试样加热到高温
然后自然冷却降温
实验中
我们每隔30秒读一个温度读数
可以看到 降到一定温度时
温度不再随时间改变
冷却曲线中出现一个平台
出现平台的原因是纯组分系统在熔点处析晶
待析晶结束
温度继续下降
所以通过a和e这两条冷却曲线可以确定Sn和Pb的熔点
中间三个系统为混合组份
降温过程中曲线出现一个拐点
为什么会出现拐点呢
通过看相图
我们可以知道
系统降温过程中碰到液相线
就会发生析晶现象
降温速率就会发生改变
将这个拐点对应温度平移过来
和系统组成线相交于一点
即确定了液相线上的一点
通过上述讲解
大家会发现这种方法比较简便
五条步冷曲线就绘制出了相图
但是
通过这种方法所确定的相变温度只是一个近似值
而且相变前后的物相不确定
如果想确定物相组成
还需要借助其他的方法来加以辅助
刚才我们讲到冷却曲线中可能出现拐点
但如果放热现象不是很明显
拐点就不容易确定
这时
我们就可以利用差热分析法加以确定
差热分析是测量物质与参比物之间的温度差与温度关系的一种技术
在程序控制温度下
差热分析曲线描述了
样品与参比物之间的温差随温度或时间的变化关系
我们来了解此设备的原理图
在其中一个坩埚里放置试样
另一个坩埚里放置参比试样
一般我们实验室选择的是α-Al2O3
MV1表测量的是的温度
MV2测量的是试样和参比物的电势差
当两者之间存在温度差别时
差热曲线中出现放热峰或者吸热谷
利用这个原理
我们就可以确定相图中拐点对应的温度
下面我们来看静态法
淬冷法
淬冷法的原理是
将一系列不同组成的试样
在选定的不同温度下长时间保温
使之达到该温度和组成条件下的热力学平衡状态
然后将试样迅速淬冷
这样就把高温的平衡状态保存到低温
再用适当手段对其中所包含的平衡各相进行鉴定
就可以绘制相图了
我们来看一下这种实验方法的示意图
坩埚里边装的是某一组成的试样
我们将其加热到一定温度
再保温一定的时间
然后把悬挂坩埚的金属丝熔断
坩埚就会掉到下边的水银中
我们称之为汞浴
经过这样的淬冷
试样就保持了高温下的平衡状态
然后借用XRD OMS EM等测试手段
对淬冷试样进行物相鉴定
以确定试样在高温所处的平衡状态
如果确定试样组成全是玻璃相
我们就在相应位置画一个空心圆圈
如果试样中既包含晶相又有玻璃相
那么就画一个圆圈加一个小黑点
如果全是晶相
我们就画一个实心圆点
这样就可以确定出液相线和固相线的具体位置
这个方法优点是准确度比较高
长时间保温系统较接近平衡状态
而且淬冷后可以对试样中平衡共存的相数
各相的组成
形态和数量直接进行测定
缺点是比较复杂
一次实验过程只能得到一个点
工作量是相当大的
而且此方法只适用于相变速度慢的系统
如果快
则在淬冷时发生相变
改变了高温平衡时的状态
