我使用混合式教学的方式
some of my tips for designing courses
进行大学英语教学改革过程中
during the reform of College English education
关于课程设计的一些心得
with blended teaching.
首先我们来简单了解一下
First of all, let's take a brief look
新时代的教学工具和设备
at the instructional tools and equipment of our times.
比如说现在
For example, at present,
老师不再仅仅是用教材来备课了
textbooks aren't the only tool teachers use to prepare lessons.
很多年之前老师们都有了自己的QQ群
Many years ago, teachers all had their own QQ groups.
目前应该说每位老师都在用微信群
Now, almost all teachers answer their students' questions
跟学生答疑互动
and interact with students in WeChat groups.
在清华我们是用雨课堂
At Tsinghua University, we use Rain Classroom.
通过丰富的视频资源
With abundant videos,
在课堂上可以起到点名
we can call call over during the class
课下可以让学生预习
leave students to prepare for class before the next one,
班上还可以投稿
and make it possible for students to submit their essays
还可以发弹幕
and send live comments.
我最多的使用的是当堂小quiz
The gadget I use most frequently is live quiz.
我的讲义呢也会通过雨课堂
My teaching materials are sent to every student's cell phone
发到每个学生的手机上
via the Rain Classroom.
接下来我们来看一下
Now let's talk about the key points
以新时代教学工具和设备为基础的
for preparing lessons during blended learning
混合式教学中
based on modern-age instructional tools
备课的侧重点是什么
and equipment.
在混合式教学中
When conducting blended teaching,
我备课的侧重点不再是一本教材
my key points for preparing lessons aren't just textbooks anymore.
而是我每天会听四个小时的英语
Instead, I listen to audio resources in English for four hours every day
从里边找出时事英语里面的常见词汇
and find common words from English news from these resources.
每天会读一本书
I read a book every day
从书中找到一些灵感
and find inspiration in them.
每天也会维护学生的微信群
I also manage my students' WeChat group
每天也会和同行交流
and communicate with my fellow teachers every day.
在我备课的时候我的侧重点是放在
During the process of preparing lessons, my key points are
如何培养学生利用数字化的工具
how to teach my students how to use digital tools
来提升自己来不断进步
to improve themselves and make constant progress.
我就称它为
I call it digital competence.
第二就是我希望我的学生是
Second, I hope my students
不断思考不断学习的人
are continuously thinking and learning.
在我的课程设计里边有三个原则
There're three principles for my course design.
我的课是不是让学生主动学习了
Does my course enable my students to learn actively?
我的学习支持是不是更加精准
Is my instructional support so accurate
能具体到每个学生
that it can reach every one of my students?
另外就是我有没有给学生提供海量的
Moreover, do I provide my students with a large number
学习数据分析资源
of analysis resources for learning data?
我的备课是不是基于学生的数据
Is my preparation for lessons based on my students' data?
比如说他完成课程的情况
Including, for example, their course completion status,
懂不懂我的PPT
whether they understand my PowerPoint slides,
还有就是小quiz的完成情况
and their quiz completion status.
来备下一次课程的
Is my preparation for the next class based on this data?
下面我谈一下开学第一周我都做了什么
Now I'm going to talk about what I do during the first week of a new semester.
我们先做学情分析
First, we analyze our students' learning situation.
在确定教法
When we try to confirm the teaching approach,
特别是教学手段和确定教学设备的时候
especially teaching methods and equipment,
先看看学生在哪里
we should first find out where the students are in terms of their learning,
他课堂上能完成多少的训练
how much training they can complete in class,
实际上他对你知识点的接受能力如何
how many of the knowledge points you've taught them they understand,
而知识点多少是颗粒化碎片化
how many knowledge points are fragmented
可以通过慕课讲解的
and can be taught in MOOCs,
有多少是在教材里头没有的
and how many knowledge points can't be found in textbooks.
就比如说合作学习
Take for example, collaborative learning,
老师和学生在课堂上共同创造性的活动
a creative activity conducted by teachers and students,
这个是现有教材里面所没有的
that can't be found in current textbooks.
但是老师在课堂上
But teachers can't treat
也不能把课堂当成一个游戏厅
the classroom as a games room.
我们要把握课堂活动热闹的度
We need to keep the activeness of our class activities under control,
使学生在热闹之外
ensuring that the students can learn
可以找到系统的
systematic and logical
逻辑性比较强的这种知识点
knowledge points besides just experiencing a mere bustle.
在混合式教学的学习方案设计上
As for the design of blended learning plans,
在课堂上尽量搜集
we need to find out in class as much as possible
学生的文本分析能力
about the students' abilities to analyze texts.
比如说
For example,
他在多大范围里头可以读懂一篇文章
how much of an article can they understand?
文章里面哪部分是不太懂的
What parts of an article do they not understand?
这是课堂上在观察学生的学习时候搜集材料
That's how we find out our students' abilities by observing the way they learn in class.
课下会准备相应的专题阅读
After class, we should prepare some reading materials for special topics.
通过小组研讨的形式和文案撰写的形式
Using three methods: seminars, text writing
学生演讲的形式
and student speeches,
三种形式来检查他们是不是真的掌握了
we can check if they've really acquired the knowledge we've taught them.
因此现在备课的大部分任务
So, the biggest part of my preparation for lessons
就是设计学习情景
is designing learning scenarios.
我认为一个好的老师
I think a good teacher
应该给学生构建一个完整的学习生态环境
should build a comprehensive learning environment for their students.
有了慕课之外
In addition to MOOCs,
有了助教之外有了讨论区之外
assistant teachers and the discussion zone,
我们的重点依然是在课堂教学上
our focus still lies in classroom teaching.
此外教师上课要少讲
In addition, teachers should talk less in class
给学生充分的讨论时间
and give enough time for students to discuss.
教师的反馈要及时
Teachers need to give timely feedback.
无论是微信群讨论区
Both in our WeChat group's discussion zone,
还是QQ群
or a QQ[chat] chat group,
都要给学生及时的反馈
we need to give students timely feedback.
最后就是助教团队
Finally, there's the team of assistant teachers.
助教团队不是一个人
The team of assistant teachers isn't just a single person.
助教团队需要根据学生的学习情况
The team needs to constantly give students timely responses
不断地给学生及时的回复
based on their learning status.
回顾一下我的教学实践
Looking back at my teaching practices,
我觉得三个方面是尤其重要的
I think there're three especially important aspects.
首先有了慕课之后
First, only with MOOCs
我们才有可能做到因材施教
can we teach students in accordance with their aptitude,
精准地记录学生的学习情况
record students' learning statuses accurately,
也适时的调整线下课程的内容
and adjust offline courses' content in time.
第二部分就是基础部分学习的
Second, the learning of basic knowledge
更扎实更加充分了
is more solid and thorough.
因为慕课的特点
Due to MOOC's features,
学生可以把一个视频多次来看
students can watch a video over and over again,
这是传统课堂上做不到的
which is impossible in traditional classrooms.
第三点就是老师终于意识到了
Third, teachers have finally realized
课堂不是老师施展自己才华的地方
that the classroom isn't where they can show off their own talents.
我们一定要少讲解
We need to lecture less
多给学生讨论的时间
and give more time for students to discuss.
另外老师要做到的就是通过备课
In addition, teachers should prepare for lessons
多拓展一些领域
as a means of expanding areas of knowledge,
让学生有自己的思考
and leave students to think independently,
有小组的讨论
discuss in groups
更多的是跟老师交流
and communicate more with their teachers.
