All these large-scale assessments and certifications
大的评估或者认证
related to your school and major
都非常重要的一个宗旨叫做OBE
have a very important tenet;
Outcomes Based Education
OBE - Outcomes Based Education.
它的基本原则就是说
According to its basic principle,
我们先得梳理出目标来
we should set a goal
或者说成效来
or an outcome first.
我们围绕着这个目标
Then, around this goal,
来开展有针对性的措施
we can assert targeted measures.
当然我们有合理的评价
Of course, we should also make reasonable assessments to
来看这个目标是否达成
see whether the goal is achieved.
那接下来我们沿着这个OBE的思想
Next, let's follow the principle of OBE
来看看混合式教学可能有怎样的目标呢
and explore some goals we may set in blended teaching.
现在屏幕上给出的是某一门课程
As shown on the screen, a course
它有可能实现的五个目标
may achieve five goals, involving
广度 深度 能力培养
breadth, depth, ability training,
课堂交互 课内学时
classroom interaction and teaching hours.
那你作为一个老师
As a lecturer,
你可以根据你自己的想法来进行调整
you can make some adjustments as you wish.
比如说你可以认为
For example, you may think,
由于学生课前学了一些东西
since students have learned something before class,
那我现在在课堂上
you can discuss more topics
就能讲更多的东西了
with them during class,
我课程的广度能够得到拓展
and thus expand the breadth of your course.
混合式教学能帮助你
Blended teaching may help you in this case.
当然你作为老师来讲你可能会觉得
Of course, as a lecturer, you may think
这有什么用啊 知识还在爆炸
it's useless to expand the course's breadth, because in an era of information,
而且重要的知识也在不断的增加
important knowledge is continuously increasing.
我讲的过来吗
How can you possibly include all of that in your course?
更重要的是让学生对那些核心知识点
You may then conclude that it's more important to help students understand
有更深刻的体会
those core knowledge points more deeply.

你在课堂上就有时间
and then during class there will be enough time
你敢于让学生相互讨论
for them to discuss with each other
训练团队合作训练创新了
and improve their teamwork and innovation abilities.

我这个班是一个特别大的容量
your class is rather large.
比如说像我2018年春天在清华上课
For example, I taught a course on circuit theory at Tsinghua University
电路原理
in the spring of 2018.
是155个人的容量
There were 155 students in my class.
我没法让学生相互讨论
In this case, you can't allow students to talk with each other,
那就讨论成一锅粥了
or else the classroom will become a complete mess.
我现在想做的是说
So, now you want to
利用混合式教学
adopt a blended teaching method
让我课堂里面的交互气氛
to make the interactive atmosphere in your classroom much more animated
比传统有显著的提升
than that of a traditional classroom.
那也可以做到
This goal can also be achieved.
我让学生课前有一些学习
If you ask students to learn before class,
我在课堂上就有时间
you will have time to
让学生用弹幕回答我的思考题了
ask them to answer your reflection questions using a bullet screen in class.
就有时间让学生用手机
They can also use their cellphones
来回答我课内推送的练习题了
to do exercises you have sent to them in class.
我的交互式能够得到体现
In this way, you can interact more with students.
那也可能有老师说
Other teachers may say
我现在最大的痛点不是这些要提升
what they want to achieve is none of the above goals.
我是说在保持相同培养质量
They want to reduce their teaching hours,
或者课程质量的前提下
on the premise that they can maintain
我的课内学时想降下来
the quality of their teaching quality or course quality,
我想用更多的时间来做科研
so that they have more time to conduct scientific research.

There is nothing wrong with this idea.

In fact,
由于学生课前学了一些基础知识
as you allow students to learn some basic knowledge before class,

you can slightly reduce
就可以适度的降低吗
your teaching hours in class.
所以你就会发现

混合式教学没有一定之规
there is no fixed pattern in blended teaching.

and the same tools like the Rain Classroom,
它最终实现的翻转课堂的教学
then in the end, we will create totally different
是完全不一样的
Flipped Classrooms.

we promoted blended teaching across the country for the first time.
找的四个学校
Back then, we found four universities,
包括南京大学 青海大学
including Nanjing University, Qinghai University,
贵州理工学院和清华大学
Guizhou Institute of Technology and Tsinghua University.
我们给出了他的学校的985 211
We listed their these universities' levels, showing that they belong to universities of Project 985,
或者说二本
Project 211, or second tier.
给出了他的高考入学成绩
We also listed their admission scores
给出来电路原理开课的学期
and the semester during which the circuit theory course took place.
非常重要的是我们给出了Outcome
More importantly, we also listed the outcome
我们也给出了他是怎么来选拔的
and also the enrollment selection method.
你会发现同一个电路原理慕课
You can find that the same MOOC for circuit theory
我们在完全不同类型的学校
is applicable to totally different types of universities,
高考入学成绩相差250分以上
even though the difference between their admission scores
都能用得上
is larger than 250 points.
很关键的是他们采用的目标是不一样的
The key point is that they had have different goals or outcomes.
所以要想实现混合式教学
So, to achieve blended teaching,
很重要的是这个老师
it's very important for teachers
要在你的这个课程里
to make the good instructional design
进行很好的教学设计
of their course very effective,.
他不是说把别人的慕课资源
They rather than can't directly apply others' MOOC resources
在这直接就能用得上的
to their course.
当然这也对你有所促进了
OBut of course, these resources can promote their teaching.
你真正能够跟学校跟老师
They should proudly tell their school,
跟你的同学来宣称
colleagues and students that
你建设了你的课程
they have constructed their own course,.
而不是你仅仅是一个
They rather than shouldn't merely
慕课资源的应用者而已
