我们继续讨论通过任意闭合曲面的电通量。
如图,空间中有一个正点电荷q。我们以该点电荷为球心,做一个半径为r 的球面。
于是球面上各点的电场强度的大小由此公式表示。电场线方向沿径向向外,即垂直于球面各点处的面元。
因此,球面上各点的电场平行于球面上各点的面元dA的法向矢量方向。
我们通过电场的面积分来计算一下穿过该球面的电通量。在此积分中,E是常量,所以可以提到积分号外。
球面的面积等于 4πr2,将上式中的E和A代入此式,求出穿过该球面的电通量.
这个方程说明穿过球面的净通量与球面内的电荷成正比。
我们注意到,电通量与球面半径r无关。这是由于球面面积正比于r的平方,而电场强度与r的平方成反比,因此E和A相乘,r抵消。
现在考虑几个包围电荷q但不同形状闭合曲面。请看图。S1是球面,但S2和S3是任意形状。
根据我们刚刚得到的公式,通过S1的电通量等于q除以ε0,与穿过闭合面的电场线数目成正比。
从这个图可以明显看出,通过S1的电场线数目必然等于通过任意形状闭合面S2和S3的电场线数目。
因此,通过这三个闭合曲面的通量是相同的,与闭合曲面的形状无关。
我们来看另外一种情形。点电荷位于闭合曲面的外部。如图所示,我们发现从曲面一侧进入的任意一条电场线必然从另一侧穿出曲面。
换句话说,穿进闭合面的电场线数目必然等于穿出闭合面的电场线数目。即净电通量为零。因此,如果闭合面内没有电荷,则穿过此闭合面的净通量等于零。
因此,闭合面外部的电荷与通过该闭合面的电通量无关。
通过以上讨论,我们可以得到以下结论:穿过任一闭合曲面的电场强度通量,等于该曲面所包围的净电荷除以ε0,这是数学表达式。
其中,E表示闭合曲面上任意点的电场强度,qin表示闭合曲面内所包围的净电荷。
我们应用此公式时,需要注意qin表示的是闭合曲面内所包围的净电荷,而E则表示总场强,是由空间中所有电荷产生的场强矢量和,包括曲面内和曲面外的电荷。
这就是高斯定理。高斯定理是描述电场性质最重要的定理之一。
高斯定理揭示了穿过闭合曲面的净通量与该曲面包围的净电荷之间的普适关系。
该闭合曲面称为高斯面。高斯定理描述了静电场性质,理论上可以应用高斯定理来求解电场。
但实际上,只有当电场具有高度对称性的时候才适用。为了求解对称电荷分布的电场,关键是选取合适的高斯面。
下一讲我们将讨论如何应用高斯定理计算具有球对称、轴对称和平面对称的电场分布。
