INTRODUCTION 

In the first module, you will gain familiarity with the platform and course design. You will be introduced to the concept of social responsibility as a process, and address what it means for a developer to be socially responsible. 


ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT 

The second module zooms into an important tool of socially responsible real estate, the Environmental Impact Assessment.  You will investigate how producing an EIA is an important part of meeting a developer's social responsibilities. 


SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT 

The third module zooms into another important tool of socially responsible real estate, the Social Impact Assessment.  You will explore this different form of analysis, and how it can be used to evaluate the impacts of a project. 


CASE STUDY: FOREST CITY 

In the fourth module, you will have the opportunity to apply the principles you've learned in the first three sections. You will explore how EIA and SIA are handled within the context of Forest City, a large scale development project.


APPLYING EIA AND SIA IN A SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE MANNER 

In the fifth module, you will have the opportunity to synthesize all the materials presented and reflect on applying the ideas of EIA and SIA.  This section explores how to interact with communities likely to be influenced by what a developer has planned.
