当前课程知识点:Socially-Responsible Real Estate Development: Learning to Use Impact Assessment Tools Effectively > Module 5: Applying SIA and EIA in a Socially Responsible Manner > Lectures > Key Takeaways
Social responsibility cannot be met through philanthropic donations alone.
Many developers think they can meet their responsibility by designing a more environmentally friendly project. This is laudable but not sufficient.
To practice socially responsible real estate development, developers must discover the interests of all relevant stakeholders and find ways to meeting those interests while meeting their own as well.
Social responsibility and profitability are not mutually exclusive. Transparent, face-to-face negotiations with stakeholders can lead to new versions of real estate projects that “create value” for all the actors involved. Real estate development is not a zero-sum game.
