当前课程知识点:Socially-Responsible Real Estate Development: Learning to Use Impact Assessment Tools Effectively > Module 1: Introduction > Introduction > COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE
The community representative is worried that the new development will adversely impact traditional lifestyles and undermine the livelihoods of the poorest local residents. There is no guarantee that the new development will provide jobs suitable for existing residents. Several neighborhood associations banded together to designate the representative to speak for them all. Being a community representative is difficult; there are often factions in a community with very different views. It is the job of the community representative to speak for all residents of affected areas and to stay in touch with the community to keep them updated on how the advisory process is going.
